Cada obra é construída manualmente, fio a fio, num processo lento e repetitivo em que a textura ganha presença e a cor determina o movimento. As composições partem de uma linguagem simples — linhas, riscas, sequências e blocos de cor — para criar superfícies onde convivem ordem e espontaneidade, intensidade e calma. At Jo.ana, the thread is no longer just matter to become line, colour and rhythm. Each work is built manually, thread by thread, in a slow and repetitive process in which texture gains presence and colour determines movement. The compositions are based on a simple language – lines, stripes, sequences and blocks of colour – to create surfaces where order and spontaneity, intensity and calm coexist. The cotton thread keeps the manual nature of each piece visible. Small irregularities are part of the work and reveal gesture, time and matter. Each Jo.ana is a unique piece.

Ritmos Rhythms  

A risca funciona como elemento essencial da composição. Vertical ou horizontal, larga ou estreita, regular ou inesperada, cada linha estabelece uma relação com a seguinte e constrói uma cadência própria. A repetição manual do fio acrescenta profundidade e textura à geometria aparentemente simples. De perto, revela-se a matéria; à distância, surge o ritmo. A coleção explora diferentes intensidades cromáticas, desde combinações naturais e silenciosas até encontros de cores fortes e contrastantes.

The stripe functions as an essential element of the composition. Vertical or horizontal, wide or narrow, regular or unexpected, each line establishes a relationship with the next and builds its own cadence. The manual repetition of the thread adds depth and texture to the seemingly simple geometry. Up close, the matter is revealed; in the distance, the rhythm appears. The collection explores different chromatic intensities, from natural and silent combinations to strong and contrasting color encounters.
